### 💰 SMART PAYMENTS – Refund Policy
**Last Updated:** 01-09-2026
## 1. Overview
At **SMART PAYMENTS**, we aim to provide fast, reliable, and secure recharge and digital payment services to our users and retailers.
This Refund Policy explains the conditions under which a transaction amount may be refunded or credited back to the user's wallet/account.
---
## 2. Eligible Refund Conditions
A refund or balance reversal may be considered in the following situations:
### Service Not Received
If the amount has been successfully debited from your wallet/payment method but the requested recharge or service was not successfully delivered, the transaction will be reviewed based on the transaction status.
### Failed Transaction
If a recharge or payment transaction is marked as **Failed** and the amount has been deducted, the applicable amount may be refunded to the original payment method or credited back to the user's SMART PAYMENTS wallet, depending on the transaction and payment method.
### Duplicate Transaction
If the same transaction amount has been deducted more than once due to a technical issue, the duplicate transaction may be reviewed and refunded or credited, subject to verification.
---
## 3. Non-Refundable Conditions
Refunds may not be provided in the following circumstances:
- **Successful Recharge:** If the recharge has been successfully processed and the service has been delivered.
- **Incorrect Details:** If the user enters an incorrect mobile number, customer number, operator, DTH number, or other transaction details.
- **Change of Mind:** Refunds are not available simply because the user no longer wants the service after a successful transaction.
- **Third-Party Issues:** Problems caused by telecom operators, DTH operators, banks, payment gateways, or other third-party service providers may be subject to their respective policies.
- **User Device/Network Issues:** Problems caused by the user's device, internet connection, or network may not qualify for a refund.
- **Unauthorized Transactions:** Transactions resulting from sharing login credentials, OTPs, passwords, or other account information may not be eligible for a refund.
---
## 4. Recharge Transaction Status
Before requesting a refund, users should check the transaction status in the **Transaction History** section of the SMART PAYMENTS App or Platform.
Transactions may generally appear as:
- **Success** – Recharge/service successfully completed.
- **Failed** – Recharge/service unsuccessful.
- **Pending** – Transaction is still being processed or awaiting confirmation.
- **Refunded** – Amount has been returned or credited.
For transactions showing **Pending**, users may need to wait until the final status is received from the relevant service provider.
---
## 5. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please follow these steps:
### Step 1 – Check Transaction History
Open the SMART PAYMENTS App and check the relevant transaction under **Transaction History**.
### Step 2 – Contact Support
If the transaction amount was deducted but the service was not successfully delivered, contact our support team.
Please provide:
- Transaction ID / Reference Number
- Transaction date and time
- Recharge/service details
- Amount
- Registered mobile number
- Description of the issue
### Step 3 – Verification
Our support team may review the transaction status with the relevant service provider, payment gateway, or operator before making a refund decision.
### Step 4 – Refund Processing
If the refund is approved, the applicable amount will be refunded or credited through the appropriate payment method, depending on the transaction type and circumstances.
---
## 6. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds are normally processed within a reasonable period after verification.
The actual time taken for the amount to reflect in your bank account, card, wallet, or other payment method may depend on the relevant payment gateway, bank, telecom operator, DTH provider, or other third-party service provider.
For pending transactions, the final outcome may depend on confirmation received from the relevant service provider.
---
## 7. Wallet Refunds
Where applicable, eligible refunds may be credited back to the user's **SMART PAYMENTS wallet** instead of the original payment method.
The refund method may depend on the nature of the transaction, payment method, and applicable service-provider rules.
---
## 8. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Transactions
SMART PAYMENTS reserves the right to investigate transactions that appear fraudulent, suspicious, unauthorized, or in violation of our Terms and Conditions.
Accounts involved in fraudulent activity may be suspended or terminated, subject to applicable law.
Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials, passwords, and OTPs confidential.
---
## 9. Third-Party Services
SMART PAYMENTS may rely on third-party service providers, including telecom operators, DTH operators, payment gateways, banks, and other service providers.
Where a transaction involves a third party, refund processing may be subject to the policies and confirmation of that third-party provider.
---
## 10. Changes to This Refund Policy
SMART PAYMENTS reserves the right to modify or update this Refund Policy at any time.
Any changes will be posted on this page and the **"Last Updated"** date will be updated accordingly.
Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
